Overview
For this project, we are working with Dr. Jason Scofield of the University of Alabama department of Human Development & Family Studies to build an Android application to support his research titled "Where Would You Sit?"
Dr. Scofield is interested in studying how children and adults use space. To that end, he has designed an experiment in which subjects are presented with a room containing several chairs, some of which may be already occupied, and asked to select a seat in which to sit.
We are building a mobile app and a web app to allow this experiment to be administered virtually -- with our app, the experimenter can configure the virtual room and any survey questions, and then hand the device to the experiment subject, who can then answer the survey questions and navigate a virtual room, ultimately selecting a seat in which to sit.
Naturally, we are also building a tool to allow Dr. Scofield and his associates to download the data generated by the experiment for analysis.
Project deliverables, as they are finished, will be available here!
