This is the project website for the CS 495 klak team's Capstone Design Project, building an Android app to be used in Dr. Jason Scofield's Child Development research.

Team Member Bios

Brandon Laird

Brandon is from Silverhill, Alabama. He is a junior studying Computer Science at the University of Alabama, and has a concentration in Software Engineering and a minor in Mathematics. He plays the alto sax and has been in the Million Dollar Band for the last three years. He has also been somewhat involved with the Navigators on-campus ministry.

Brandon spent a summer as an Intern Youth Minister for his church, First Baptist Church Silverhill. This summer, he will be working with the Baldwin Baptist Association and doing missions in Gulf Shores. Brandon has no idea what he is going to do after he graduates, but possible plans include getting a Computer Science Masters, taking online seminary classes, getting a network security job close to home, or some combination of the three.

Kelly Galuska

Kelly is a senior at the University of Alabama, studying Computer Science. She is from Athens, AL. She has played alto saxophone in the Million Dollar Band for the past four years and is involved with ACM and NSF-STEM.

Kelly worked at Dr. Jeff Gray's computer science camps for the past two summers and is currently employed at the Center for Advanced Public Safety. She will graduate from the University of Alabama in December of 2015. Her post-graduation plans are undecided but will most likely involve working as a software developer somewhere out of state.

David Vaughn

David Vaughn is currently a senior at the University of Alabama majoring in Computer Science with a concentration in Software Engineering. He is from Athens, AL, and was a member of the University of Alabama's Million Dollar Band. Recently he has been working at E-Tech at the University of Alabama, but in the past he has worked for the U.S. Army as well as the University of Alabama in Huntsville's Systems Management and Production Center.

David expects to graduate in December of 2015; his future goals include acquiring an MBA in Contract Management and Acquisition and working in the Huntsville area. His hobbies include golf, coffee, music, and the outdoors.

Daniel Klein

Daniel is a Senior at the University of Alabama, studying Computer Science with minors in Economics and General Business; he is a native of Oakland, TN. He played alto saxophone in the Million Dollar Band for four years and is a member of the UA Computer-Based Honors Program, Tau Beta Pi, and Upsilon Pi Epsilon.

Daniel worked as a co-op engineer at ADTRAN, Inc., for three semesters and as a software engineering intern at Hewlett-Packard for one summer. Daniel will graduate from UA in December of 2015; his post-graduation plans are currently undecided but will likely involve working as a software developer in the Birmingham, AL area. He enjoys coffee, cars, the outdoors, cooking, and pets.
